Marga Scheide on this year's Eurovision scandal in Weekend magazine (May 15th)
The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden, with "Europapa" performed by Joost Klein. The Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS internally selected the Dutch entry for the 2024 contest.
Following a backstage incident involving Klein and a production staff member shortly after his semi-final performance, the Netherlands was disqualified from the final. It was the first time that an entry was banned during the contest. This incident caused a huge media circus.
The spokesperson for the Dutch jury at the final was initially intended to be Nikkie de Jager, who co-hosted the 2021 contest. De Jager later withdrew from her role, and AVROTROS opted not to replace her with a different spokesperson as the Netherlands was "no longer part of the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest". The contest's executive supervisor, Martin Österdahl, announced the points from the Dutch jury instead.
Marga Scheide commented on this Eurovision controversy in the May 15th issue of Weekend magazine: "I don't know what happened there, but I think it is a severe sanction. In such a situation, these things can happen, but you need to talk about it... unless you killed someone, of course. People can't stand anything anymore. But again, I don't know what Joost did. The Netherlands should participate next year, preferably with an experienced artist".

Marga Scheide on the cover of Story Magazine (June 19th)
The June 19th issue of Story magazine featured Marga on its cover and a tell-all interview. The former Luv' singer discussed several subjects, including the men of her life (TV mogul John de Mol, record producer Jacques Zwart and Michiel Gunning) as well as the love affair between Renée (Michiel's daughter) and Jeroen Rietbergen (Linda de Mol's partner).
When asked if she had watched the Videoland series "PATTY" based on Patty Brard's life and including Luv's early years, she answered: "I only watched the first episode, and afterwards I thought it was embarrassing, and cheaply made. It's a cheap reflection of what really happened. There's a scene when you see me taking off my blouse after a performance, and I appear with my bare tits. I thought it was below standard, and I was really shocked".
Marga with Peter Boonstra and Johan Bruijnen in Ibiza (May 25th)
The Official Luv' Facebook Fan Page posted on May 25th a beautiful picture of Marga with Peter Boonstra and his husband Johan Bruijnen in Ibiza. In 2015, Peter published an excellent Luv' photo book. The publication was eventually banned due to copyright issues. However, Marga and Peter remained friends.

Privé magazine: José Hoebee and Hans van Hemert at Harry van Hoof's funeral (June 12th)
Dutch conductor, composer, and arranger Harry van Hoof passed away on June 1st. Dutch celebrities, including José Hoebee, Luv's creator Hans van Hemert and Pieter van Vollenhoven (the husband of Princess Margriet of the Netherlands), attended his funeral. Privé magazine published an article about this sad event in its June 12th issue.
José's late husband, Will Hoebee, who died in 2012, collaborated a lot with Harry van Hoof. "My husband spent countless hours in recording studios with Harry. Will and Harry were not only colleagues but also friends. A lot of their music projects became successful. They were on the same wavelength. Harry and Will were looking for quality. It was the secret of their collaboration," José told Privé.
Luv's former lead singer recalled when Will and Harry worked with Pieter van Vollenhoven. "I remember when Pieter was in the studio with Will. Princess Margriet arrived unannounced for lunch with sandwiches and strawberries from her garden. I never had the feeling they were part of the Royal House. Pieter and Margriet were very accessible to us," José explained.
Hans van Hemert also evoked memories. "Harry and I travelled the world. We were always busy. After we finished working, we often went out until the break of the day. I prefer not to tell what happened in these situations. Harry and I often talked about it later. We were not always kind. Harry was very serious about his work, but in private, he let loose," Hans said.

Marga's opinion on Ali B's sentence in Weekend magazine (July 17th)
Ali B is a Moroccan and Dutch rapper and entertainer. He was a judge on the television talent show "The Voice of Holland".
In January 2022, the Dutch Public Prosecution Service received reports against Ali B for sexual misconduct, including rape. These incidents took place while Ali B was working on The Voice of Holland, as reported by the Dutch YouTube show BOOS episode "This is the Voice". He denied all allegations. In March 2023, Ali B was charged with three counts of sexual assault, including two rapes and one other assault. The incidents occurred between 2014 and 2018 in Morocco, Amsterdam, and Heiloo. Singer Ellen ten Damme accused Ali B of raping her in Morocco during the taping of the TV show "Ali B en de Muziekkaravaan". In another incident, Ali B was accused of assaulting The Voice of Holland contestant Jill Helena in the Amsterdamse Bos. He was also accused of digitally penetrating a 20-year-old woman in Heiloo during a writer's camp while she was performing oral sex on rapper Ronnie Flex.
On July 12th, 2024, Ali B was convicted of one count of rape and one count of attempted rape and sentenced to two years in prison. He indicated that he would appeal the sentence.
The July 17th issue of Weekend magazine featured the reactions of Dutch celebrities (including Marga Scheide) to Ali B's prison sentence. Here’s Marga’s response to Ali's appeal: "If you don't know your limits, the justice system will intervene. Being famous doesn't mean you can do anything you want. Admitting your mistakes, acknowledging your wrongdoing, and promising never to repeat them is a much stronger approach. It’s cowardly to deny and say, "Yes, but I didn't know that." If he admitted his mistakes, there might still be a future for him and a chance for a comeback. But this way, I don't think so. If he doesn't understand that he was wrong, so be it. People don't appreciate that, and it ends there".
Weekend magazine: Marga about her holiday in Apulia (July 24th)
Marga Scheide discussed her next holiday in the July 24th issue of Weekend magazine. "I'm heading on a tour to Apulia, Italy, with a friend. We will be flying there, and our car is already waiting for us. We'll be staying at different hotels every two days, allowing us to explore the entire area extensively, which is really exciting. I've wanted to visit Apulia for many years. However, during the last period with Michiel, we couldn't plan far ahead due to his illness. We always did Ibiza trips at the last minute, but a trip like this requires thorough planning. Now, I'm going with a friend," she said.
