Marga Scheide in Privé: Following in the footsteps of ABBA

The latest issue of Privé magazine features an article about Marga Scheide. Earlier this month, the former Luv' singer and her partner Michiel Gunning attended the release party of Stany Van Wymeersch's latest books about ABBA entitled "The Legacy of ABBA" (Vol. 1 & Vol. 2). This event took part in the Slottsholmen restaurant & hotel run by Anna (Björn Ulvaeus' daughter) in Västervik, Sweden.

When asked why Marga and Michiel flew to Sweden, the blonde singer answered: "It's because Michiel is mentioned several times in these publications. That's the reason why we've been invited. Michiel interviewed ABBA on several occasions in his young years when he worked for the teen magazine Popfoto. At the time, he was nicknamed David, and he often posed with the members of the pop group for photographs. Some of these pictures have been published in these books. In particular, the photos of Anni-Frid Lyngstad walking in the snow with Michiel. I'm so proud of it! (Click here to read an article about Michiel's artistic past with ABBA). To be in the right mood, we spent one night at Hotel Slottsholmen. Björn Ulvaeus owns it and his daughter Anna runs it. It's next to a lake. It's very luxurious. It looks like a fairy tale. It's like the Efteling (a Dutch theme park) with a nice view of the little town Västervik".

Marga and Michiel were not the only ones who attended the release party of the two new books about ABBA. "Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid and Björn pratically never appear in public. That's why the hologram shows are launched next year in London. It was so lovely to meet Tonny Roth during the books' presentation. He was a member of Björn's first group: Hootenanny Singers. He is often in touch with Björn and told us that all the member of ABBA gave their blessing to the publication of Stany Van Wymeersch's books," Marga told Privé.

On September 2nd, ABBA revealed great plans during a worldwide YouTube Livestream:

  • The release of Voyage, the group's first new album in 40 years, on November 5th, 2021.

  • The launch of ABBA Voyage, a residence show starting in May 2022 in a purpose-built venue (the ABBA Arena) in London featuring the motion capture digital avatars of the four band members (dubbed 'ABBAtars') alongside a 10-piece live band.

  • As a foretaste of the Voyage album, two new singles, "I Still Have Faith in You" and "Don't Shut Me Down", came out.

On October 22nd, ABBA put out a new single entitled "Just a Notion". Originally written and produced for the 1979 album Voulez-Vous, it was released over forty-three years later. It is the third single to be released from ABBA's 2021 album Voyage. "Just a Notion" retains its vocals from 1978 but includes updated instrumentals added much later. The track was previously included in a demo version as part of the medley "ABBA Undeleted" from the 1994 Thank You for the Music box set.

ABBA released a lyric video on YouTube of "Just a Notion" to accompany its release. The video is directed by Mike Anderson and produced by Nick Barratt of the production company Able.
