Patty Brard Chronicles: November - December 2024

"Shownieuws"

This autumn saw Patty Brard's comeback on SBS6's infotainment program "Shownieuws" as a showbiz expert, after a 8-month hiatus.

Among the latest subjects the diva and her team discussed:

  • Bridget Maasland turns 50 (November 9th)

Patty Brard Vs Bridget Maasland

During a broadcast segment about Bridget Maasland's 50th birthday, Patty reignited their long-standing feud, accusing Maasland and André Hazes Jr. of disrupting her wedding years ago with inappropriate behaviour. Bridget's failure to apologize left Patty bitter. Bridget's new book revisits her relationship with Hazes, sparking renewed public criticism. Despite Patty's willingness to reconcile, tensions remain high, with no apology in sight.

  • Jutta Leerdam, Dutch speed skater (November 10th)

Patty expressed concern over Jutta Leerdam's appearance during a recent Shownieuws segment, commenting that Jutta looked unusually tired. She criticized Jutta’s demanding schedule, including her travels to support her boyfriend, American professional boxer, influencer and actor Jake Paul, as potentially detrimental to her performance as a professional athlete. Patty particularly highlighted the strain caused by frequent short trips and time zone changes, suggesting these could negatively impact Jutta’s energy and preparation for upcoming competitions.

  • Thomas Berge (December 4th)

During a live discussion with singer Thomas Berge, Patty was critical of his recent personal controversies, particularly his decision to leave his family shortly after the birth of his child. Reflecting on the situation, she directly questioned him about his actions' impact on his public image and career.

While Thomas remained reserved about sharing details, Patty pointedly referenced the title of his new song, "Ook maar een mens" ("Only Human"), to highlight the human aspect of making mistakes.

  • Ruud de Wild and Linda Stulic together? (December 4th)

Patty reacted positively to the dynamic between radio DJ Ruud de Wild and his rumoured new partner, photographer Linda Stulic, during their awkward television interview on Shownieuws. While the couple avoided directly confirming their relationship, stumbling through answers about their connection, Patty thought they made a good match. Her response was lighthearted and supportive, contrasting with the awkwardness of the couple's interaction.

Patty Brard's reality show "Charmes in de Strijd": biggest TV flop of 2024

Dutch celebrity gossip magazine Party recently set up a list of the biggest Dutch TV flops of 2024. Patty Brard's reality show "Charmes in de Strijd", broadcast between October 28th and December 4th on Net5, topped this list. The show’s poor performance was already mentioned in an earlier article.

Interview in Weekend (November 6th)

The November 6th issue of Weekend magazine showcased Patty Brard on the cover and included an in-depth interview. The former Luv' singer opened up about a variety of topics, including her daughter's wedding, her reality show "Charmes in de Strijd", Hans van Hemert's passing, her duet single with Kees de Bever, "Feesten in de Stad", and her relationship with her husband, Antoine van de Vijver. Additionally, the magazine featured two other brief articles discussing the failure of her latest TV show, her struggle with bronchitis and her love for Ibiza.

She and Kees de Bever sang their latest single, "Feesten in de Stad", and Luv's signature song "You're the Greatest Lover". The concert will air on RTL 5 on December 26th at 8.30 pm.

Patty Brard Vs her ex-Luv' colleagues

Patty Brard has not been on good terms with her former Luv' colleagues, Marga Scheide & José Hoebee, for years. The ladies no longer communicate directly and instead exchange their views through the media.

  • Nieuwe Revu (November)

When approached by "Nieuwe Revu" magazine for comments about Patty, José and Marga quickly hung up. José explained that Patty no longer wishes to be associated with Luv'. She declined to speculate on whether reconciliation was possible, stating that too much had happened. Marga was more blunt, quickly ending the conversation with a curt "Sorry, next time better, bye bye," refusing to comment on Patty at all.

  • Beau (December 5th)

During an interview on RTL 4's talk show "BEAU" on December 5th, Patty expressed her wish to reconcile with her ex-bandmates. As she approaches her 70th birthday, Patty hopes to reunite with them for a final performance at the "Panther Party" at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam in March to celebrate the milestone and end the Luv' chapter on a positive note. However, Patty acknowledged the tension between them, particularly due to her past harsh remarks about Marga and José.

  • Story (December 18th)

In an interview with Story magazine published on December 18th, Marga expressed her disappointment that Patty didn't reach out personally, but instead had someone from the production team make the request. The charismatic blonde stated that even if Patty called now, her answer would still be no. According to Marga, Patty missed the opportunity to make amends.
