  • April 17th: 506.000 viewers/market share: 21.9%

Among the latest celebrity gossip Patty and her team discussed:

  • André Hazes jr's disappointing concert ticket sales (April 7th)

André Hazes Jr. announced a concert at the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena earlier this month. The singer, who faced a plagiarism scandal surrounding his new single, hoped the show would be sold out within a few hours. According to Patty, André wanted to stop making Dutch folk music and instituted a "ban on waving hands" during his shows. “But he should not have performed during the "Holland Zingt Hazes" concerts recently, and maybe that is why he wanted to get out of it,” La Brard said. "He wants to perform a different kind of music. If I were his manager, I would have told him to do a theater tour in small venues and build a new image. That is probably why ticket sales for Ahoy are not going well, unlike Holland Zing Hazes," she added.

  • The end of Stella Bergsma's collaboration with Vandaag Inside (April 7th)

Dutch writer Stella Bergma recently appeared twice on SBS6's talk show "Vandaag Inside" and received €1.000 per appearance. She wanted a higher remuneration. But the V.I team and Bergma never clicked. "Once the V.I crew made clear how they felt about Stella Bergma, she should accept not being invited anymore. She should go her own way,” Patty explained.

  • Shownieuws bashing Sébas Diekstra, the lawyer of The Voice of Holland victims (April 7th)

Linde de Jong, creative director at Talpa (John de Mol's company), recently worked on the new talent show "The Talent Scouts", the follow-up to "The Voice of Holland" more than a year after claims of sexual misconduct. De Jong apparently was informed about Jeroen Rietbergen's behaviour. Sébas Diekstra, the lawyer of several The Voice victims, tweeted that he was surprised about Miss De Jong's collaboration on "The Talent Scouts". He announced that ITV, the British company which took over The Voice, accepted his request to discuss touchy issues and investigate. "Why does he need to tell the media what he's doing? Why does he inform the press about all the behind-the-scenes steps before his investigation? He should give us the conclusion after his investigation," La Brard said.

  • Nicol Kremers, Peter Gillis' ex (April 8th)

Patty reported that Peter Gillis, famous for SBS6's high-rated show "Familie Gillis: Massa is Kassa", threatened a lawsuit against Shownieuws and Talpa if they referred to his former girlfriend Nicol Kremers as his "ex". Last year, Gillis was accused of having mistreated his Kremers.

  • André Hazes Jr's latest single drawing few views (April 8th)

André Hazes Jr's latest single, entitled "Deel Van Mij", sounds like Gavin DeGrauw's hit single "Fire". The former Luv' singer noticed that André's new song drew few viewers on YouTube.

  • Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's Breakup (April 11th)

  • Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper's lack of vocal talent (April 12th and April 15th)

Dutch singers Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper will represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with their song "Burning Daylight". The duo created controversy after their bad vocal performances at ESC pre-parties in Madrid and Amsterdam. "Things will never get better with them. They need guidance. Don't send them to the ESC if they're not ready. They need good backup singers. Look, when Luv' performed live during De Toppers concerts, we had excellent background singers, including Ingrid Simons," the diva explained.

  • Radio 538 DJ Wietze de Jager's dismissal from his morning radio show after he complained live on air about his working time (April 12th).

"He complained about it quite a few times on the radio. I can't stand this whining," La Brard said.

  • Tony Neef revelations about Glennis Grace beating a dancer in 2017 (April 15th)

Musical actor Tony Neef revealed in a podcast that Glennis Grace beat a female dancer during a Frank Wentink's dinner show in 2017. The controversial singer denied this incident. Last year, she was arrested on suspicion of assaulting Jumbo supermarket employees in Amsterdam and was sentenced to 200 hours of community service.

  • Duncan Laurence's lack of interest in Mia & Dion (April 17th)

Duncan Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 with his song "Arcade". He co-wrote Mia & Dion's track "Burning Daylight" for this year's ESC. Duncan remained silent after the above-mentioned criticism his protégés received. He will be one of the interval acts during the ESC final on May 13th in Liverpool. "I think Duncan focuses more on his performance than his support to the duo," Patty said.

  • Patty Brard's attack on Cornald Maas (April 17th)

Media personality Cornald Maas has been involved in the "Eurovision Song Contest" since 2003, including as a jury member of the Dutch selection for the ESC and as a commentator of the competition on AVROTROS. Recently, he threatened Shownieuws to take away its press accreditation for the Eurovision Song Contest. Maas did not appreciate that a reporter of the SBS6's program wanted his reaction to Mia & Dion's disastrous performances. He tweeted on April 17th: "AVROTROS and I are always ready for the media which cover the Eurovision Song Contest. But a limit has been reached when Shownieuws sends camera crews to the home addresses of Sandra Lantinga and me on a Sunday afternoon without informing us to get a comment on Mia & Dion".

La Brard was furious at Cornald Maas. "He tweeted at 5.30 pm, telling that a camera crew was standing at his door. That's totally wrong. I want to defend our editorial staff. Someone indeed rang the doorbell with a camera and politely asked him: ‘Would you like to comment?' The answer was 'no', and the reporter simply left. Please don't make such a mess while we are dealing with AVROTROS so we can arrange things better in the future," the prima donna asserted.

Cornald eventually blocked Patty on social media. It's not the first time both celebrities are not on good terms. In 2013, Miss Brard strongly criticized Cornald Maas in a column for Weekend magazine after he presented the Amsterdam Gay Pride on AVRO.
