You're the Greatest Lover by Luv': Johnny Gold's new version + overview of all the covers




On July 5th, VNC Producties posted the music video for Johnny Gold's latest single, "Hey Hallo (je bent de grootste lovert)", on YouTube. This song is a Dutch cover version of Luv's signature song "You're the Greatest Lover" from 1978. It has been available on Spotify since July 12th.



An international pop classic


"You're the Greatest Lover" by Luv' was originally released by Philips/Phonogram Records in July 1978. The track, written by Hans van Hemert and Piet Souer, was a chart-topper in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark and Spain. It peaked at #2 in Austria, #26 in Finland and #15 in South Africa. The single went platinum in the Netherlands (150.000 copies) and gold in Germany (650.000 copies). In France, the song was renamed "Sing me, sing me a chanson", reached #19 on the SNEP chart, and sold 60.000 copies. In early 1979, Phonogram/Philips Records announced that the record had sold 1 million copies worldwide.
